Stillman softball pounds LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- The Stillman Lady Tigers sit atop of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Western Division after sweeping two doubleheaders from LeMoyne-Owen over the weekend. The Tigers roared out of an offensive slump and and 16-1 and 22-2 on Saturday, then 16-2 and 29-4 on Sunday.

Stillman (27-10, 20-2 SIAC) hosts Kentucky State, currently in second place in the SIAC West, this weekend to end the regular season.

“We had been in a bit of a slump over the past six games, but I am proud of how we went to work and blasted out of it,” Stillman coach Pam Phillips said. “We were patient and selective at the plate, and the results were positive. We really hit well, we stayed aggressive on the base paths, and we had a very productive weekend offensively.”
