
The Tigers fought, but couldn’t overcome a rough day and fell to Bethune-Cookman 50-41 at Tiger Arena.
SSU (6-13, 1-5 MEAC) dropped its fourth straight game and seventh in the last eight outings.
Bethune (8-9, 3-2) won for the third time in its last four games.
The Tigers’ lone bright spot was Erin Hogue. The Alabama transfer recorded her fifth straight double-double (eight overall), scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Despite Hogue’s solid outing, SSU had its second worst shooting game (26.9 percent), had only five assists and 23 turnovers and was outrebounded 47-39.
No one was looking forward to five days off before the next game more than Tigers’ coach Cedric Baker.
