TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- Now off suspension after spending 20 months on the sidelines, Florida A&M’s revered Marching 100 is scheduled to begin regrouping during the coming week.A date for the band’s first public appearance has not been set, however.
Student officers with the band will assemble at 8 a.m. Thursday, university officials announced, and try-outs for new members get under way at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.
But before a single snare drum ripples or a trumpet blares, prospective band members will hear from a host of FAMU officials next Saturday, including interim President Larry Robinson, legal counsel Avery McKnight and football coach Earl Holmes.
