The former JSU coach, who was fired by the program last December, guided his MVSU squad to a comeback 27-23 victory at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
It was the first time since 1994 that the Delta Devils defeated the Tigers.
And it was another painful loss for JSU (3-4, 1-3 SWAC), which dropped its third game to a team seeking its first conference win.
The Tigers held the 14-6 lead. But it all changed when the Delta Devils switched quarterbacks from Patrick Ivy (the older brother of JSU quarterback LaMontiez Ivy) to Quantavius Peterson.
