Bethune-Cookman looking to rebound against Norfolk State
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida -- Ja'Quan Lumas said Wednesday that he and his Bethune-Cookman teammates are ready to get past last week's loss to North Carolina A&T.
“We are motivated,” the tight end said. “Losing last week … we don't like losing. We are more motivated, and we've been focusing on getting the job done and coming together.”
That is, likely, music to the ears of B-CU coach Terry Sims as his team prepares to host Norfolk State at 4 p.m. Saturday in another big MEAC showdown.
Norfolk enters just 2-4, 2-1 in conference, but the Spartans are perennially one of the conference's tougher teams.
And Sims said his team, now 5-2, 3-1 in the MEAC, has to do better if it hopes to rebound from its first conference loss.
“(A&T) was a hard-fought game,” he said. “I just don't think we took advantage of the opportunities when we had a chance too.
