Culver Column: Homecoming win exactly what the Florida A&M Rattlers needed
22,687 fans were there to see the Rattlers get their first win of the season.
TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- Homecoming at Florida A&M doesn’t get much better than Saturday.
I’ve been in Tallahassee since 2008 and I’ve seen some amazing homecoming moments (more than 30,000 fans in 2010) and some truly awful moments (last year).
Saturday’s game, a 41-13 victory destruction of Delaware State, was exactly what the Rattlers needed to inject some life back into the season. I doubt the Rattlers will finish the season 5-6 after starting 0-6, but a huge victory over a team FAMU was 100 percent capable of beating is a good sign of things to come.
An even better sign was the number of fans that came out to support FAMU.
