JACKSON, Mississippi -- A look at the stat sheet from Saturday’s game against Alabama A&M probably wouldn’t make anyone involved with the Jackson State football program feel any better about the result.The Tigers outgained the Bulldogs by 179 yards, had more first downs and red-zone trips, rushed for a season-high 165 yards on 6.1 yards per carry, the offense didn’t turn it over and the defense allowed a season-low 255 yards of offense.
But JSU, which lost 28-22, missed out on an opportunity to record its second win of the season and in SWAC play, which had to hurt considering this is the lighter portion of the Tigers’ schedule.
“We took this punch on the chin,” defensive end Teddrick Terrell said after the game. “We just have to come back and get ready for next week.”
