Kimbo Ferguson led the way with 63 yards on the ground, including a pair of one-yard touchdown runs, and also caught a 10-yard pass for a big first down late in the game. Both of Ferguson's scores were set by big catches by Blake Tibbs, who caught four balls for 118 yards.

On LU's ensuing possession, Henry Ogala, who completed 11 passes for 169 yards, found Tibbs for a 35-yard gain down to the one, and Ferguson ran it in on the next play for a 14-0 Blue Tiger lead.

Southwest Baptist kicked a pair of field goals from 38-yards and 26-yards, respectively, to stay in the ballgame, but the Lincoln defense used a huge fourth-down stop with 1:28 remaining on the LU 20 to prevent the Bearcats from getting back in the end zone.
