NEW ORLEANS — There was no change Tuesday in the top 16 positions of the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, which resulted in another No. 3 ranking for Xavier University of Louisiana.
     

The Gold Nuggets have started the season 2-2, including home victories against NCAA Division I Texas State and city rival Loyola, which climbed one place to 20th. XULA's losses were to DIs South Alabama and New Orleans.
     

Coach Alan Green announced an additional match for the Nuggets: 11 a.m. Saturday at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. The Lady Demons are one of seven DIs on the XULA schedule.

No. 3 XULA Gold Rush make 29th consecutive top-5 appearance

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana was No. 3 Tuesday, same as it was three weeks ago, in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
     

The Gold Rush (1-1) are in the top five for the 29th consecutive time — that streak began Jan. 26, 2016.
     

Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennisThe Gold Rush lost at NCAA Division I South Alabama, then earned a home victory against NAIA and city rival Loyola, which is among the "others receiving votes" at 28th place.
     
The XULA men will not compete this week, but their next dual match — 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the University of New Orleans — will begin a workload of six competitions in eight days.

     The Gold Rush active poll streaks:
     •  97 consecutive appearances in the top 25 . . . streak began April 4, 2007.
     •  88 consecutive appearances in the top 20 . . . streak began April 30, 2008.
     •  73 consecutive appearances in the top 15 . . . streak began Feb. 1, 2011.
     •  67 consecutive appearances in the top 10 . . . streak began May 3, 2011.
