Rush, Nuggets, remain unbeaten at home this season

NEW ORLEANS — The men's and women's tennis teams of Xavier University of Louisiana remained unbeaten at home this season after defeating SCAD Atlanta Monday. The Gold Rush won 6-3, and the Gold Nuggets won 9-0.
     

The XULA men (9-4) and women (11-3) are both 4-0 at their campus facility.
     

Santiago PerezChris Anders and Gabriel Niculescu won in doubles and singles for the Gold Rush. Perez clinched with a 6-1, 6-4 victory on the first singles court against Ernesto Sanz Martinez.
     

Winning in doubles and singles for the Gold Nuggets were Mariia BorodiiFarah BakloutiCharlene GoreauAngela Charles-Alfred and Angelica De Vincenzis. Charles-Alfred clinched by defeating Katrina De Guzman 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
     

Both XULA teams will play host to William Woods — whose men are ranked fourth and women sixth in the NAIA — at 3 p.m. Friday. Visiting the Gold Nuggets at 2 p.m. Saturday will be NCAA Division I Southern Miss.
