Nuggets add more NAIA qualifying marks at McNeese meet
Wray (11.87 seconds), Milton (11.94) and Ford (12.09) finished 2-3-5 in the 100. Wray, a freshman, has qualified for nationals in five events.
The Gold Nuggets' 400 relay team of Justyce Riggs, Ford, Milton and Wray finished second with an NAIA A-qualifying time of 46.62. It was the second time this season that XULA produced an A-qualifying time in this event.
Tyler Lewis missed an NAIA B-qualifying mark in the men's 110 hurdles by nine-hundredths of a second. Lewis's time was 15.04 in a fourth-place finish. Teammate Shane Buchanan won the 5,000 (16:18.67), Edward Angel tied for second in the men's high jump (2.00 meters/6 feet, 6 3/4 inches), and Kadeem Burton placed third in the 800 (1:57.43).
It was XULA's fourth meet of the outdoor season. Next will be the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships April 17-18 at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. The XULA women have won five of the last six GCAC team titles, including 2018 and 2017.
The NAIA National Championships will be May 23-25 at Gulf Shores, Ala. Here are all XULA results from the McNeese Spring Time Classic:
