You hear? XULA Athletics announces formation of pep band

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana announced Wednesday the launch of a pep band to perform at athletic and other XULA public events.

The band will make its debut during the 2019-20 academic year under the direction of XULA's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

"Adding a pep band and live music will add to the energy and spirit of Xavier University's game-day experience and give musicians another avenue to pursue their passion and have some fun along the way," said Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Athletics DirectorJason Horn.

XULA is in the process of hiring a director to recruit and organize the pep band.

"Like everything else we do at Xavier, this pep band will be a first-class operation," Horn said, "and our goal is to enhance the student experience while growing the student population."

XULA's pep band will be open to all interested XULA students with previous experience in a high school or college band program preferred. Students interested in joining the pep band may click here to fill out an online questionnaire.
