Gold Nuggets welcome eighth signee for next season
McGee, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, is the Gold Nuggets' eighth signee. She will major in biology at XULA.
McGee hit .337 with 170 kills, 34 blocks, 24 aces and 181 digs during the 2018 prep season. She hit .296 in her career. A four-year varsity starter, McGee was all-league twice and was co-MVP of her league as a junior in 2017.
McGee played six years of club ball, most recently with Synergy Force, and helped her teams qualify for nationals in 2017 and 2018.
McGee is a National Honor Society member and took mission trips to Mexico and Zambia.
XULA in 2018 won Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships and qualified for the NAIA National Championship tournament — all for the eighth consecutive year. The Gold Nuggets finished 26-7 and tied the school record for victories in a season.

Brother Martin distance champion signs with Gold Rush
Wilson will compete in the LHSAA state track meet Saturday after helping Brother Martin's 3,200-meter relay team win district and regional championships this season. At district his split on that relay was 2 minutes, 4 seconds.
Other best times for Wilson are 2:07 in the open 800, 4:47 in the mile, 11:19 for two miles and 17:54 for three miles.
Wilson in cross country helped the Crusaders win a pair of district championships and earn two state-runner-up finishes.
"Ahmad was a great leader on our team and a great teammate," Brother Martin coach Drew Haro said. "I never had to ask him to push himself to be at practice. He epitomizes the best of what the cross country program is about."
Wilson, a National Honor Society member, will be a premedical or prepharmacy major at XULA.
XULA men's cross country in October won its 11th Gulf Coast Athletic Conference team championship in its last 12 attempts. In April the Gold Rush set a meet record for most points by a runner-up at the GCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
