Plummer earns state coach of the year from LSWA
A Louisiana Sports Writers Association panel of college sports publicists selected Plummer.
In his debut season at XULA, Plummer led the Gold Nuggets' distance runners to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference team championship and a berth at the NAIA national meet. He earlier was selected GCAC Coach of the Year in that sport and in women's track and field.
Plummer was XULA's only representative on the LSWA's All-Louisiana teams in track and field and cross country, all of which were announced Saturday evening.
Plummer joined Pat Kendrick (volleyball) and Bo Browder (women's basketball) as Louisiana Coach of the Year recipients from XULA in 2018-19. It's the second time that three XULA individuals received the LSWA's state coaching awards in the same academic year.
It's the 12th time in the last 13 years that XULA produced at least one LSWA Louisiana Coach of the Year.
