Nuggets win 4 times in singles at HBCU Championships

Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennisATLANTA — Xavier University of Louisiana's Farah BakloutiLailaa BashirAngela Charles-Alfred and Yi Chen Pao recorded singles victories Thursday at the HBCU National Tennis Cnampionships.
     
Bashir, a freshman from Jackson, Miss., won in her first collegiate match.
     

Defeated in singles were Lacee Ancar and Lindsey Dixon of the Gold Nuggets and Santiago PerezSebastian Perez and Guillermo Coiras of the Gold Rush. Dixon and Coiras made their collegiate debuts at this tournament.
     

The three-day event, XULA's first of the fall semester, will conclude Saturday. XULA is the defending women's champion.
