Livingstone College/Hope Mills native Quanera Hayes earns trip to Tokyo Olympics with win over Allyson Felix

EUGENE, Ore. (WNCN) — Hope Mills native and Livingstone College graduate Quanera Hayes edged out the United States’ most decorated women’s Olympic champion Allyson Felix in the women’s 400-meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials to earn a trip to the Tokyo Olympics. 

Despite the close finish, both women will hear their names called on the track when events begin during the Olympic games.

Committed to East Carolina on June 24, 2019 … Early enrollee (January) who participated with the Pirates in spring drills. Selected FAMU over NCCU, SCSU, Alabama State and a bunch of other offers in the transfer portal.  Jason has 4-years of eligibility and pass rusher size and speed at 6'-4"/235 that the Rattlers love on defense.
