'It's way overdue.' New Marion Motley memorial underway in Canton
Motley, a Pro Football Hall of Famer played at South Carolina State University in 1939, before transferring to University of Nevada before his sophomore year.The Marion Motley Memorial Fund Committee announced this week that it has raised the funds needed to erect a statue of Motley on a patch of land in Stadium Park in Canton. The committee hopes to place the finished statue before the end of the year.
