CoachesVsRacism | University of Michigan Men's Basketball vs. Prairie View A&M Panthers Mens Basketball
Coaches Vs Racism to host a premiere basketball game in Washington DC featuring University of Michigan vs. Prairie View A&M to continue dialogue of changing the narrative about “Race” in Sports
The outrage over death of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and the murders of other Black Americans sparked renewed nationwide protests and unrest over systemic racism and racial injustice.
It was a tipping point and a wake-up call that forced America and the world to reflect on race, privilege, and equality, and begin to take action such as, NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS and the NCAA by utilizing their powerful brands and voices to change the narrative.
Coaches Vs Racism (CVR) is a 501c3 national non-profit organization with several locations across the United States will host a premiere basketball event featuring power five collegiate school Michigan Wolverines vs. Prairie View A&M Panthers in Washington DC on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Entertainment and Sports Arena to continue the conversation regarding hope and healing of our great nation.
Mr. Darryl Woods, executive director said, the focus is to bring awareness to address relevant issues related to systemic racism, social justice, equality and reform within the sports and industry, but more importantly, utilize sports platform to provide a voice for change in our society. He continued, Economic Inequality continues to exist today in our Elementary and High Schools, Colleges and Universities. As part of our mission CVR will create “Student Fallout” initiative.
Many students drop out of college for lack of funding to pay for tuition, fees, etc. Our goal is to engage these students in our program called “Good Start”, which is to raise funds to support HBCU graduates to pay off their respective student loans at a minimal rate.
Curtis Symonds, CEO,
HBCUGO.TV is CVR board member offered his professional insights regarding the
event. He said, outreach and education
are very important to the growth and sustainability of our community that we
take seriously. Both of our company’s
work diligently each day to impact positive change in the lives of those who
need it most. Our hope is to provide access points for people of color to become
empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence they need to fulfill
their potential.
