Howard University Inks 23 on National Signing Day

WASHINGTON, D.C -- The Howard University Football team announces 23 athletes who signed their National Letter of Intent, making their decision to become a Bison official.

"It's a class of 23," stated Head Coach Mike London. "We're excited that the class represents kids from 14 different states, eight from the DMV area. We tried to address the needs on offense and defense and position needs with four wide receivers, three really good running backs, a tight end, and an inside interior player."

He continued, "On defense we have athletes in , two safeties and and two corners. We have to have guys that can cover. We have to have pass rushers, and that is important to us along with the two linebackers that we signed.

Also this class includes a punt returner and and kick returner. If you have a chance to go to the links and see their huddles, and accomplishments, you'll see some dynamic and athletic guys. We are really excited about the class, and we will also be adding Caylin Newton, we are excited about that addition as well."

He concluded, "For what it's worth, we have the Number 1 recruiting class in the MEAC."

Geter played both ways in the trenches, mainly at tackle on the offensive line… helped Whitehaven claim the Class 6A State Championship… will move to fullback at TSU.

Reed’s Take:
“He played on the offensive line in high school. He is one of the nastiest kids on tape that you will ever want to see. But we are going to take him and try him at the fullback position. He is a little vertically challenged to play on the offensive line, but push comes to shove you could probably put him at center and he would fight with the best of them. We just feel he can help us at fullback.”

Reed’s Take:“He is a local kid with ties to TSU. His father played wide receiver for the Tigers and is probably in the record books. He has a huge upside and I feel a few people may have missed on him, but we are very fortunate to get him… He comes from a good local program and he will bring depth to our receiving corps.
