TALLAHASSEE, Florida - The warm-up exercise to start practice Thursday afternoon was moving at a pace that seemed just fine to a curious visitor. But when a player missed a step in the routine, coach Veronica Wiggins didn't hesitate to let her know."I push my players," she said. "They will tell you that."
They would also tell you that as much as Wiggins is a stickler when it comes to the details of preparing for a game, she has a side that goes beyond what they do inside the chalked lines. They refer to her as a godmother and mentor who takes as much time to teach life lesson as she does making sure they understand the fundamentals of the game.
