HOUSTON, Texas -- Texas Southern will kick-off the 2013 football season against Prairie View A&M in the 29
th Annual Labor Day Classic at the home of the TSU Tigers (BBVA Compass Stadium) on August 31st at 7:00pm.
Texas Southern ended a five game losing streak last season when they beat Prairie View 44-41 with a 47-yard field goal at the end of the game. The win was the first game of Texas Southern head coach Darrell Asberry's career as a Tiger.
With one season under his belt, Coach Asberry is preparing to face Coach Heishma Northern and the Panthers again in the Labor Day Classic.
You don't have to wait until game day to see these two coaches square off. They will meet at the 2013 Labor Day Classic news conference at noon, Monday, August 26th at BBVA Compass Stadium in the West Club. The head coaches and athletic directors from both universities will talk about their teams, the game and answer questions.
Comedian, radio personality on the Yolanda Adams Morning Show and TSU alumnus Marcus D. Wiley will host the news conference.
Lunch will be served and credentials distributed to the media. Texas Southern is the host of the 29th Annual Labor Day Classic.
