FORT VALLEY, Georgia -- Little, through four games, has been as unpredictable for Fort Valley State when the offense and defense aren’t on the field.
Special teams have been a roller-coaster ride so far. Four weeks ago, Valdosta State blocked a point-after kick and then got momentum with a 65-yard kickoff return that led to a quick score.
Three weeks ago, Savannah State was outgained by a large margin but rode a blocked punt and 92-yard kickoff return to survive two missed field goals to hand Fort Valley State a seven-point loss.
Then two weeks ago, FVSU happily accepted Clark Atlanta’s brutal 1-for-5 night on field goals and held on, despite missing a 34-yard field goal in overtime, for a three-point win.
