VANCOUVER. B.C. - Ian Rapoport, the NFL.com columnist who broke the news that coach Jeff Tedford was headed to the B.C. Lions, is reporting that Tedford will soon have a new quarterback.
Howard University phenom Greg McGhee is bypassing the National Football League combine in Indianapolis this week and will sign with the Canadian Football League Lions, according to Rapoport.
A four-year starter for the Howard University Bisons, McGhee was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) co-offensive player of the year last season when he passed for 2,379 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushed for 896 yards and three more scores.
The left-handed dual threat quarterback has been compared in playing style to NFL quarterback Michael Vick.
