McCray steps forward for Clark Atlanta

ATLANTA, Georgia -- Clark Atlanta coach Kevin Ramsey has found someone to build his offense around.

Ramsey has turned to running back Jaha McCray, who transferred from Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Mo., and saw limited action until this month.

McCray, a sophomore, has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of the past two games and scored on a 98-yard run in the Panthers’ 24-3 victory over Benedict, Ramsey’s first win at Clark Atlanta.

He also caught three passes for 88 yards last week and has 17 receptions for 188 yards this season.

“No doubt. He’s our guy,” Ramsey said. “He’s talented. We knew it was a matter of getting him healthy and him clicking with the offense and getting the ball in his hands.”

McCray leads the Panthers (1-6, 1-2 in the SIAC) with 309 yards on 63 carries.
