Crimson Tide Continues Home Stand Friday Against Grambling


TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The Alabama women's basketball team continues its home stand when it takes on Grambling State on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (3-1) is coming off of an impressive 76-56 win over Clemson on Monday night.

PROMOTIONS

• Alabama women's basketball game and Alabama volleyball game (7 p.m. on Friday) ticket bundle for $6.

THE BROADCAST

• The game will be on SEC Network + and can be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.

OPENING TIP

• Alabama looks to continue its momentum when it takes on the Grambling State Lady Tigers for the eighth time in history on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum.

• Alabama is 7-0 all-time against Grambling State, including defeating the Lady Tigers last year in Tuscaloosa, 73-49 on Dec. 10, 2017.


• The Crimson Tide is coming off of a game in which it dominated Clemson on Monday night, 76-56, while Grambling State fell to UT-Arlington 78-54 on Tuesday night in Arlington, Texas.


ALABAMA VS. SWAC

• The Crimson Tide is 60-4 all-time against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams.
• Alabama has never lost at home to a SWAC team and has not lost against a SWAC school since Dec. 4, 2009 in Montgomery, Ala., versus Alabama State.

ABOUT GRAMBLING STATE
• The Lady Tigers are 1-3 under third-year head coach Freddie Murray.

• Grambling State is led by senior Shakyla Hill who leads the team in points (15.8), tied for first in rebounds (5.8), assists (5.0) and steals (5.3). Jazmin Boyd is also averaging double figures with 10.3 points per game.

• In 2017-18 Grambling State finished the season with a 19-14 record and 13-5 mark in SWAC play. As the No. 3 seed in its conference tournament, the Lady Tigers defeated No. 1 seed Southern 72-68 to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years. In the tournament, Grambling State fell to No. 2 seed Baylor in the first round, 96-46.
