Thompson Named MIAA Player Of The Week

KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- After nearly posting a triple-double in Lincoln's win over Stephens, junior guard Zoi Thompson has been selected as the MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The league office announced the honor, which was voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Monday afternoon (Nov. 19).

Zoi Thompson Home OpenerThompson finished one steal and one rebound short of a triple-double as she filled the stat line with 19 points, nine boards and nine steals in 39 minutes of work. Thompson also had seven steals as she helped lead Lincoln to a 79-34 victory last Tuesday (Nov. 13) for LU's largest margin of victory since the 2011-12 campaign.

Thompson becomes the first Blue Tiger to be honored as player of the week since Vivian Essuon claimed the honor on Jan. 9, 2012.

The Blue Tigers will be back at Jason Gym on Wednesday (Nov. 21) to host McKendree at 6:00 p.m. CST.
