WASHINGTON, D.C. -- University of the District of Columbia women's basketball head coach John Nakpodia has announced Ronnasia Blatch-Huggins of Howard Vo-Tech High School in Wilmington, Delaware has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at UDC in Fall 2019 and begin playing for the Firebirds in the 2019-20 season.
"Ronnasia has a rare blend of skill, size and athleticism," the 2nd year head coach said. "Her potential is limitless. She will be an impact player for us from day one."
Blatch-Huggins is a 6'0 guard who has earned three All-Conference selections (2016, 2017 and 2018), including a First Team All-Conference honor in 2018. She was also a Top-15 North All-State selection by the Delaware Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (DIBCA) in 2018.
A three-year varsity starter and team captain under head coach Curtis Clack, she has scored 947 career points heading into her senior season. Last year, she had per-game averages of 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
She plans to study Biology at UDC.
