NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- Tennessee State University announces it will recommit to participating in the Southern Heritage Classic through 2024. TSU has been a part of the SHC activities and football game since 1990. The Tigers have played in every game of the Southern Heritage Classic and hold a 17-11 record with the 2018 contest being called due to inclement weather. Jackson State has been the opponent for TSU in 27 of the 29 scheduled contests.
The Big Blue faced off against Mississippi Valley State in 1991 and Grambling in 1993.
