LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — Xavier University of Louisiana's Shane Buchanan ran the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 46.25 seconds Friday during a third-place finish at the Louisiana Classics track and field meet.Producing top-15 finishes for the XULA women were Shalysa Wray (12th place, 25.59) and Ariel Ford (13th, 25.60) in the 200.
The two-day meet will conclude Saturday. Field events will start at 10 a.m., and running events will begin at 2 p.m. XULA's men and women will compete in the 400, 800, 1,500, 400 hurdles, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump. The women will compete in the 100 and shot put, and the men will run the 110 hurdles.
The meet venue is Cajun Track/Soccer Facility of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
