NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's Jas Hill received honorable mention Tuesday on the 2019 Women's Basketball Coaches Association NAIA All-America team.Hill — a 5-foot-7 junior guard/forward from Mobile, Ala., and a former LeFlore High School and Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College standout — leads the team with 14.9 points per game, 36 made 3-pointers, 114 made free throws, 99 defensive rebounds and 10 blocked shots for the Gold Nuggets (23-7). XULA won the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season championship and earned an at-large berth to the NAIA Division I National Championship tournament.
Hill in February was chosen GCAC Player of the Year.
"Jas has made major strides on and off the court and has worked extremely hard to become an all-around student-athlete," coach Bo Browder said. "She is one of the most talented guards we have signed in my 20 years at Xavier."
The All-America selections consisted of players from both divisions. Montana Western's Brianna King (22.2 points per game) is the NAIA Player of the Year.
XULA will play MidAmerica Nazarene (24-5) in the first-round of the national tournament at 5:45 p.m. MDT Wednesday at Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings, Mont.
