Nuggets third in NAIA for seventh consecutive time

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis again was third Tuesday when the NAIA announced its fourth coaches poll of 2019..
     

It's the seventh consecutive time that the Gold Nuggets (8-3) are third. They're still chasing No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett and No. 2 Keiser.
     

XULA scored one of its best victories if the season when it won 5-2 March 1 at No. 9 William Carey. The Gold Nuggets are 3-0 this year against ranked opponents and 2-0 against top-10 teams.

XULA's women and men will travel to the Midwest for matches Friday against Northwestern Ohio and Saturday against Indiana Wesleyan. IWU's women are ranked 11th, and UNOH is among "others receiving votes" and tied for 30th.
     

The next rankings will be announced March 26.
     

The Gold Nuggets' active poll streaks:
