A Belated Happy Birthday to Olympian and Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Hayes, Dec. 20, 1942 (Video Highlights)

Washington, D.C. -- With COVID-19, it is very easy to lose your perspective on the past and the future.  There is much to look forward to football fans of the MEAC, SWAC and HBCU football.  But let us pause for a moment to honor the birthday of Bob Hayes on Dec. 20, as we await the new year of 2021.

Hayes is my favor Florida A&M and SIAC player of all-time.

In 2021, Bullet Bob remain the only athlete to earn both a Super Bowl ring (1972) and an Olympic gold medal.  Hayes is inducted in both the UNITED STATES OLYMPIC HALL OF FAME (2006) and the PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME (2009).  Bob Hayes won two gold medals (100-meter, 4x100) at the 1964 Olympic Games Tokyo.

Today, Bob Hayes still holds the record for the fastest 4x100-meter anchor leg in history, as well as the world record for the 70-yard dash. But, how fast was Bob Hayes using today's technology?  The two videos below from the experts can answer this question for us.

Happy birthday Bob Hayes! What a Mighty Rattler!!
