Hooray for Wray, who sets XULA record at 400 meters
Thr previous mark at that distance was 56.63 seconds by Ariane Williams, set in 2017 at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
Wray's time qualified her for the NAIA National Championships at Gulf Shores, Ala., in May. Through two collegiate meets, Wray has qualified for nationals in three events.
Wray placed fifth in the 400 and produced one of six XULA top-10 finishes. Edward Angel won the men's high jump with a mark of 2.00 meters/6 feet, 6 3/4 inches.
There was no team scoring.
Next for XULA will be the Southern Miss Invitational March 30 at Hattiesburg, Miss.

XULA completes Midwest trip with wins against IWU
XULA's women (10-3) are ranked third in the NAIA, and the men (8-4) are ranked eighth. Indiana Wesleyan's women (23-5) are ranked 11th, and the men (19-7) are ranked 24th.
Both the Gold Nuggets and Gold Rush went 2-0 during their Midwest trip. They'll fly home Sunday and play SCAD Atlanta at 3 p.m. Monday at XULA Tennis Center.
Farah Baklouti clinched for the Gold Nuggets with her 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory against Lena Golz on the fourth singles court. Clinching for the Gold Rush was Santiago Perez on the first singles court with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Eli Steiner.
XULA's women are 4-0 this season against top-25 opponents — 3-0 on the road against teams ranked 11th or higher. Both Gold Rush victories on this trip were against top-25 teams.
The XULA women have won their last eight dual matches and, dating to last season, 26 of their last 30.
The matches were played indoors at Howard County Tennis Center, approximately 17 miles west of the IWU campus. Only four courts were available. The men completed their matches first, then the Gold Nuggets and IWU battled for 6 1/2 hours. Three of the women's singles matches lasted three sets, with only one decided by a super-tiebreaker.
