NEW ORLEANS — For the second time in seven months, Xavier University of Louisiana's Jason Horn will return to his hometown of Detroit to extol the value of historically black colleges and universities.

Horn — XULA's assistant vice president for student affairs / director of athletics & recreation — will speak Saturday at Destination HBCU Experience & College Fair at Southfield A&T High School. The event is for students in southeast Michigan.

Horn will be part of a 1 p.m. EDT panel discussion called "Making the Right Call — the Power of HBCU Athletics." He was part of the same discussion in early October at HBCU Senior Day in Detroit.

Horn, announced Wednesday as the new president of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, recently began his sixth year at XULA.
