Hampton and Norfolk State drop MEAC home games (Video)

HAMPTON, Virginia -- Bruce Beckford 24 points, Khary Doby added 12 with 10 rebounds, and North Carolina A&T held on to beat Hampton 64-61 on Saturday night.

The Aggies (5-14, 2-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic) had a four-point lead with 16:41 to play and Hampton went cold over the next 3:12, allowing NC A&T to go up by 12 points. The Aggies then experienced a scoring drought of their own, going 5:57 without a field goal and the Pirates rallied back to tie the score at 53-all with 4:38 remaining. Beckford went 5 of 6 from the line in the final three minutes, and Hampton missed two 3-point attempts to keep NC A&T in front.

Beckford was 8 of 11 from the floor and 7 of 10 from the free-throw line, as the Aggies combined for 52.2-percent shooting.
