Grambling's annual Fall Sports Fan Appreciation Day follows football scrimmage today

GRAMBLING -- The Grambling football team went through its final set of two-a-day practices on Friday at the Robinson Stadium Support Facility practice fields.
Before the team moves into preparing for its season opener at Alcorn State on Sept. 1, the Tigers will hold a two-hour scrimmage today.

In a stark contrast to last week, the Tigers offense closed out Friday's final practice with a strong effort as they had success in the team's seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills.

In 7-on-7, 2007 All-SWAC second team quarterback Brandon Landers connected with favorite targets such as Clyde Edwards, Neville's Tim Abney and Kovarus Hills for several big plays. Defensively, the Tigers had a strong performance in goal-line situations as they kept the GSU backfield from penetrating the end zone on several occasions.

The scrimmage will begin at 9 a.m. today. Following the scrimmage, a selected group of players and coaches will participate in GSU's annual Fall Sports Fan Appreciation and Media Day.
