WSSU football ready for 2007
"Meet the Rams" Media Day and Rams' final scrimmage Takes Place Saturday; Fan Fest Sunday
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University football team will hold their final scrimmage of the fall on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 9:00 am and will follow it up the next day with "Meet the Rams" Fan Fest and Media Day activities to be held at Bowman Gray Stadium at 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 26.
WSSU's 15th-year head football coach Kermit Blount will lead the Rams in their final scrimmage of the fall when the Rams take to the field on Saturday at 9:00 am. The WSSU offense, which showed marked improvement in the first scrimmage, will attempt to once again defeat the WSSU defense, an upperclassmen-laden unit that continue to shine under Defensive Coordinator Mike Ketchum.
Following Saturday's scrimmage, the Rams will prepare to kickoff the fan-friendly activities of the 2007 WSSU "Meet the Rams" Media Day and Fan Fest that will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 6:00 pm within the friendly confines of Bowman Gray Stadium.
WSSU's "Meet the Rams" Fan Fest is an opportunity for fans from the community and the Winston-Salem State University family to come out and meet the coaches and players from the football team as well as meet the cheerleaders and WSSU Marching Band.
WSSU athletes and coaches will be available for autographs and pictures and will conduct media interviews and appearances.
As well, Sunday will be fans' last chance to purchase their custom "Ram Seat Back" chair back seat for the 2007 season. Sunday's festivities will allow fans to reserve their seat for what will prove to be an exciting Division I football season.
Admission is free and is open to the public. For additional information about WSSU football or the 2007 "Meet the Rams" Fan Fest and Media Day, contact the WSSU Office of Athletic Media Relations at (336) 750-2143 or log on to the Official Website of WSSU Athletics at www.WSSURAMS.com.
