The Lady Rams will not waste any time getting started facing a tough November which will feature a host of emotionally charged games, including opening the season at Virginia Tech, the first regular season game at Cassell Coliseum since last spring's tragic massacre and the Lady Rams and Hokies' first meeting since WSSU nearly pulled out the upset last season.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The 2007-08 basketball season will be an exciting one for the Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams with the team playing one of its most challenging schedules in school history. The season will feature some of the best competition in the nation including games against three teams that saw post-season action last season as well as completing a full schedule of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) games.
"We are very pleased with our schedule going into our 2nd season of Division I competition," WSSU Head Coach Dee Stokes said. "We are starting to develop some rivalries within the state and hope to continue those."

The Lady Rams will open home court in a November 20th meeting with the Radford Highlanders before taking part in the Niswonger Invitational Tournament hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes. The tournament will be a tough one with the Lady Rams possibly facing the Big Ten Champions in the tournament.
December will also be a big month for the Lady Rams with the team playing their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game hosting the South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs. After hosting the Lady Bulldogs in their second home game of the season, the Lady Rams will also head into South Carolina to take on the USC-Aiken Pacers.

The Lady Rams will face a trio of rivals hosting the Elon Phoenix on December 13th before hitting the road to take on the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls. A December 21st meeting with local rivals Wake Forest will take the Lady Rams into the Christmas break will be one worth watching as the two teams went to the wire in the contest, playing into overtime in their last meeting. A December 29th meeting with the Alabama State Lady Hornets wrap up the month.
The month of January will be a great one for fans of the Lady Rams as they will resume conference play with six MEAC games in the month, including four home MEAC games as well as heading to nearby Greensboro to face the rival North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies in the hostile confines of the Corbett Sports Arena.

The team will open the month with a pair of home games against the Florida A&M Lady Rattlers and the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats. The team will head to Baltimore, Maryland for a pair of titanic games.
The team will face the Morgan State Lady Bears, who played in the 2007 MEAC Championship game last season, followed taking on the Coppin State Lady Eagles, who reached the second round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) last season. After taking on the Longwood Lancers in a home game, the Lady Rams will hit the road once again
