CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina - On day two of the Dick Taylor Invitational, Tennessee State University's men and women's track and field teams took to the Eddie Smith Field House to pick up more top finishes.Ashontae Jackson finished with a time of 25.63 for a sixth place finish in the 200 meter dash.
In the Shot Put, Brittani Logan threw a mark of 11.41m, which landed her in 10th place.
Junior Gabrielle Todd placed in eighth with a time of 59.07 in the 400 meter dash.
For the men, Junior Lequinn Davis earned a seventh place finish with a time of 22.83, Michael Johnson finished right behind him in eighth place, clocking in at 22.89,in the 200 meter dash. Later in the day, Davis also earned a ninth place finish in the 400m meter dash with a time of 51.67.
Seniors Avian Hughes and Adrien Hill finished in sixth and eighth place respectively with marks of 13.57m and 12.93m in the triple jump.
Alex Griffin threw a mark of 44-5 ½ (13.54m) in the shot put, which earned him an eighth place spot.
Next up, TSU will head to Champaign, Ill. to compete in the Illini Classic. The event will be hosted by the University of Illinois. Competition will be held over a two day period, starting on Friday, January 20.
