WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- Coach Bobby Collins of Winston-Salem State and his staff savored the school's first CIAA title in men's basketball for a while. Then they went back to work. Collins signed three junior-college players who are expected to make impacts early and often next season."We feel good about the three, and they all bring something to the party," Collins said. The Rams will lose only one player from last season — rising junior center Nequan Melvin, a role player, has decided to transfer.
They'll add Maurice Nash, a 6-foot-4 swingman from Raleigh and Davidson County Community College; Marquez Jones, a 6-3 combination guard from Kinston and Lenoir Community College; and Victor Holloway, 6-7 power forward from Kinston and Arizona Western Community College.
