TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- Now off suspension after spending 20 months on the sidelines, Florida A&M’s revered Marching 100 is scheduled to begin regrouping during the coming week.
A date for the band’s first public appearance has not been set, however.
Student officers with the band will assemble at 8 a.m. Thursday, university officials announced, and try-outs for new members get under way at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.
But before a single snare drum ripples or a trumpet blares, prospective band members will hear from a host of FAMU officials next Saturday, including interim President Larry Robinson, legal counsel Avery McKnight and football coach Earl Holmes.
