BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- In recent years, the Southern football team has been able to bring in some of the highest ranked prospects in the school’s history.
Sophomores Willie Quinn and Corey White and freshman Chuck Baker were all highly sought-after recruits (Quinn and Baker signed with the Jaguars out of high school; White transferred from LSU).
Southern hopes to add to that list with the possible addition of another — Ouachita Parish High School star Cameron Sims.
Sims, who will announce his college decision Saturday, is down to five schools: Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Southern.
The Jaguars are probably a long shot. But they at least have a shot.
247sports.com ranks Sims a four-star recruit and the No. 11 wide receiver prospect in the country.
