As a junior, Batchelor led the Hawks on the defensive side of the ball with 77 tackles (45 solo, 32 assisted) and ranked third in the CIAA with 12.5 sacks en-route to being named All-CIAA. Additionally, he was named Beyond Sports Network Division II 2nd Team All-American and the NCCAA Defensive Player. Batchelor was also named to the 3rd Team Don Hanson Division II All-America Team, and 2nd Team Don Hansen All Super Region 1.
Batchelor was one of ten student-athletes from the CIAA to be selected to the USA College Football Division II Preseason All-American teams. He was joined on the First Team by safety Michael Johnson (Fayetteville State), offensive lineman Nathaniel Hartung (Winston-Salem State), and linebacker Carlos Fields (Winston-Salem State). The Second Team consisted of offensive lineman Vincent Maene (Elizabeth City State), running back Colon Bailey (Fayetteville State), defensive lineman Javarous Faulk (Saint Augustine's) and defensive back Darnell Evans (Shaw). Bowie State tight end Khari Lee (Third Team) and defensive back Curtis Pumphrey (Honorable Mention) also received recognition.
