ORMOND BEACH, Florida -- Bethune-Cookman scored five runs in the first inning in a 9-2 win over Delaware State to advance to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference softball tournament championship Friday.
The Wildcats (25-30) will meet Florida A&M (23-27) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ormond Beach Sports Complex.
B-CU, which lost to the Rattlers 5-1 earlier Friday, needs to beat FAMU twice to claim its fourth league title in five years.
“We're focused on that first game (Saturday),” B-CU assistant coach Sabrina Ferguson said. “How we played (Friday) is behind us. We're going to come prepared (Saturday), and our mindsets are good.
