Louisiana – What happened on a normal December road trip to the Pacific Northwest is something Shawn Walker will figuratively clutch between his fingers for quite some time.Walker, in his first year as Grambling’s basketball coach at the time, endured a brutal three-day stretch where he witnessed Oregon State and Washington beat “the life out of his team.”
“That has to stop,” Walker thought.
The results, a nine-point first half against Oregon State and a 13-point first half against Washington, weren’t too surprising considering the Tigers were less than two years removed from an 0-28 season.
