Missouri transfer J.P. Tillman will start for Grambling State this week. Tillman, subbing for sophomore Greg Dillon on Saturday against Alcorn State, was 12-of-25 for 143 yards and two scores. Dillon, a sophomore, finished 4-of-8 for just 24 yards in the eventual 29-0 win for GSU.
Grambling faces Northwestern State, a fellow Football Championship Subdivision program in Natchitoches, on Saturday. Kickoff has been moved up to 2 p.m., four hours earlier than initially announced, to accommodate the Grambling band -- which has been invited to perform the next day at a home game of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
