Baton Rouge, LA - It's easy to see Southern University coach Stump Mitchell wants his football program to win more games than it did in his first season on campus.
Mitchell knows, and rightfully so following a 2-9 season in 2010, the Jaguars have a lot of improving to do. Mitchell, who doesn't shy away from putting in long hours, knows it won't be easy turning around his slumping program.
So in an attempt to do so, Mitchell is keeping things simple, now only four days away from the beginning of his second season at SU.
"Our preseason preparation was like everyone else's as we were trying to get our offense and our defense going. But, to be honest, it was much better than it was last season because it was a continuation (of) what we did last season," Mitchell said Monday.
