Mississippi Valley earns spot in SWAC title game

GARLAND, TEXAS — Cor-J Cox and Paul Crosby combined for 37 points tonight, helping Mississippi Valley State beat Arkansas Pine Bluff 71-64 to earn a spot in Saturday’s championship game of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Delta Devils (20-12) will play Texas Southern at 7 p.m. Saturday for the championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Cox scored 19 points and Crosby had 18 as Valley turned back APBU (11-22) in a game that was close throughout.
