Tallahassee, Florida -- In the first outdoor meet of the season, Tennessee State had 15 podium finishes at the 62nd Florida A&M Relays last Saturday.
The Tigerbelles picked up nine top-3 finishes, while the men grabbed six in the prestigious one day meet.
TSU's Tigerbelles snagged a pair of second place finishes in the relay events. Brittany Betters, Ja'Lyn Burr, Ashontae Jackson and Diera Taylor combined for a time of 47.29 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay.
In the 4x400-meter race, Jackson, Breanna Adams, Kya Riley and Gabrielle Todd put together a time of 3:51.72.
Todd, a sophomore from Anchorage, Alaska, leapt 5-3 ¼ (1.61m) to win the women's high jump title. Jackson used a leap of 18-2 ½ (5.55m) to win the long jump.
Burr recorded her first triple jump title in her career with a distance of 37-6 (11.43m). Brittani Logan earned a third place finish after tossing the shot put 40-2 feet (12.24m).
Sean Jenkins won the men's high jump with his clearing distance of six feet and six inches (1.98m).
Sophomore Royce Dates continued where he left off from the indoor season with a leapt of 23-8 ¼ (7.22m) in the long jump.
Tennessee State competes in the Morehouse College Relays in Atlanta this upcoming weekend (March 16-17).
