BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Albany State advanced to the quarterfinals of the SIAC men's basketball tournament with a 55-54 opening round win against Morehouse College at Bill Harris Arena Tuesday night.
Morehouse, which was playing without regulars, David and Buchannon and Joshua Simmons, had its chance at the of the game but botched a possession with less than 10 seconds to go as ASU walked away victorious.
Morehouse's Darrin Williams, the league's two-time leading scorer, had an abysmal shooting game, going 1-for-15 from the floor in the loss.
No one scored in double-figures for ASU but the Rams got balanced scoring throughout its lineup in the victory.
